Lucky Robot rolls out iPad ordering, payment system
The new Lucky Robot Japanese-inspired restaurant in Austin has rolled out an iPad-based ordering and payment system for diners. The system is called FoodHub and is a product of HubWorks Interactive LLC.
Guests are issued an iPad upon being seated and order their meals and drinks directly on the device.MacRumors reader Michael Rou has managed to get his hands on both a pre-production iPhone 5 case and a pre-production ipad leather case and posted comparison photos on Flickr. Staff members are on hand to help out, if patrons need tutoring.Sadly, the iPad doesn't have either a USB port or an SD slot, but Apple sells the Apple ipad camera connection kit for £25.With Apple’s ipad smart cover, iPad should be pretty well protected. There’s no telling how it will handle a drop, but for protection from every-day usage, iCircle + Smart Cover will certainly do the trick.
The complete menu is provided on the iPad with a list of ingredients including information about potential allergens. Patrons may pay for their meal immediately upon ordering or after eating. Now you can cost effectively mount a ipad bluetooth keyboard in conjunction with your RAM Tablet mounting solution using this design. The FoodHub software includes an integrated credit card reader to securely process purchases. The new iPhone needs enough iphone backup power to get through a busy day without requiring a recharge.
Andrew Weisberg, iphone protective case founder and CEO of Lucky Robot, said the HubWorks product should create increased interest from guests who are looking for a quick and creative ordering experience. The product will allow wait staff to be more attentive to guests instead of processing orders and payments.
